Excise policy case: Supreme Court grants bail to BRS leader K Kavitha

 The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case investigated by the CBI and ED. The apex court also ordered her to submit her passport to the trial court and regularly attend the trial proceedings. The bench, consisting of justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, ordered her immediate release while imposing various conditions, including not tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses. Kavitha also has to furnish a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh each in both cases. “The appellant is directed to be forthwith released on bail in both (CBI and ED) cases on furnishing bail bond of Rs 10 lakh each. She shall not make any attempt to tamper with evidence or influence the witnesses. The appellant shall deposit her passport with the trial court,” SC ordered.
